A full moon hangs high in the sky with a downturned face inside it, and everything below is lit indirectly.
Moonlight is reflected light. Nothing in this card is being seen directly, and that is the whole difficulty of it. Shapes are visible and none of them are certain.
Below, a dog and a wolf howl on either side of the path. The tamed and the wild, and in this light they look almost identical.
At the foot of the card a crayfish emerges from a still pool. Something from the deep, coming up. It is at the very edge of the water and has not fully arrived.
A long pale path runs between two distant towers and away into hills that are not clearly drawn. The path is visible for some distance and then it is not.
Fifteen drops fall from the moon through the air.
It is the eighteenth teacher, and it comes after the Star deliberately. Hope returns first, and then the night. This is not a relapse. It is the part of the recovery where what was buried starts to surface.
