A figure stands at the centre of a great oval wreath, holding a short wand in each hand.
Two wands, one in each hand. The Magician held one raised and one lowered, above and below. Here they are held level, the same power carried in balance.
The wreath is laurel, bound at the top and the bottom with ribbon. It is a closed shape, and it is also a door.
In the four corners of the sky are four winged creatures: a man, an eagle, a bull and a lion. They appeared before, in the corners of the Wheel of Fortune, reading their books while everything turned. They are here again, unchanged, and this time nothing is turning.
The figure inside the wreath is dancing rather than standing still, moving lightly within the shape.
There is no landscape. Only the wreath, the figure and the sky.
It is the twenty second card and the last. The Fool stepped off a cliff at zero without knowing anything, and everything since has been what he met. He arrives here whole, which means the journey is finished and he is now standing at the edge of another one.
