· The Four Of Wands ·

MINOR ARCANA

Four. Celebration. A milestone reached.

Four wands stand upright as the posts of a canopy, and the canopy is heavy with flowers and ripe fruit.

The wands are doing something now. In the Ace one was offered, in the Two one was held and one was planted, in the Three all three went into the ground. Here they have become a structure: four posts holding something up.

Beneath the canopy two figures raise bouquets. They are not looking at each other. They are facing outward, arms lifted, in the open.

Behind them stands a walled town with a bridge leading to it. Community, and a way in.

Nothing in this card is private.

Whatever has been reached is being marked in front of other people, which is the point of a milestone.

- Upright -

Celebration. Homecoming. Stability. Milestone.

The Four of Wands upright is the moment something is worth marking.

A stage has been completed. Not the whole thing, and not the end, but a real point of arrival, and the card says stop and acknowledge it. This is the one card in the suit that asks you to pause rather than push.

There is homecoming in it. Returning somewhere, being welcomed, belonging. It often appears around houses: moving in, settling, making a place your own. The four posts are the beginning of a structure that will hold.

It is also a card of community. Whatever this is, other people are in it with you, and the marking of it happens in company rather than alone. Weddings, engagements, celebrations, gatherings of people who are glad you arrived.

Stability sits here too, and it is the earned kind. Something in your life has become solid enough to stand under.

Mark it. The next stage will still be there tomorrow.

- Reversed -

Transition. Instability. A celebration deferred. Feeling outside.

Reversed, the structure is not yet holding or the welcome has not arrived.

The most common reading is a milestone that passes unmarked. Something real was achieved and nobody noticed, including you. Reversed, this card asks you to acknowledge it anyway, because the acknowledgement is part of what makes it count.

It can mean instability at home. A move that has not settled, a household in transition, a sense of not being properly landed anywhere.

Reversed can also indicate feeling outside the celebration. Present at the gathering and not part of it, or watching other people reach the thing you are still working toward. That is worth naming rather than performing around.

There is also the reading of a foundation that is not solid yet. The posts are up and the canopy is not secure.

Do not build the next stage on it until it holds.

- Love -

Upright

One of the warmest cards in the suit. Engagement, moving in, a relationship reaching a real milestone. Happy, stable, and often public.

If you are single, it can mark a period of feeling at home in yourself, which tends to precede meeting someone.

Reversed

A milestone delayed, or a relationship that is not settling. Reversed can also indicate one person wanting to formalise things and the other not.

Sometimes it is friction over home, family or where you live.

- Career and Money -

Upright

A project completed, a role secured, a team working well. Also good for anything to do with property or premises.

With money, stability arriving. Enough to stand on.

Reversed

Work that is unsettled, or an achievement that has gone unrecognised. Reversed can also mean a workplace where you do not quite belong.

With money, foundations less solid than they look. Check before committing.

- Health -

Upright

A good stretch. Stability, rest, being at home in your body. Recovery consolidating.

Reversed

Unsettled. Disrupted routine, disrupted sleep, or a home environment that is not restful.

- Yes or No -

Upright

Yes.

Reversed

Not yet. Something is still unsettled.
